Connor Tulip

Position: Part ll Architectural Assistant

Connor loves collaborative, hands-on design work, especially when it involves local communities and results in something that has real social impact. Community projects embrace the more challenging parts of the process and finds the creative solutions that come from working closely with people hugely rewarding.

When it comes to inspiration, it’s the in-between spaces that really spark Connor’s imagination - where industrial meets domestic, rural meets urban, and beauty sits alongside the rough edges. Rather than sticking to one style, he takes a collage approach, blending different elements depending on the social, political, and environmental context of each project. It’s about creating places that feel real, alive, and rooted in their surroundings.

One of Connor’s favourite projects at Paddock Johnson has been The Stand Golf Clubhouse. It was a big step away from purely domestic work and into a more public, community-facing space. Juggling different user needs while keeping things functional and welcoming was a great challenge, and a really exciting opportunity to push their design thinking in new directions.
